Annotation

Two promotion‐only reel‐to‐reel tapes distributed together but each was housed in a separate box and each accompanied with a cue sheet. The first reel contains a selection of four studio tracks from The Ghost Of Tom Joad album intercepted with interview segments with journalist Bob Costas (with commercials), originally broadcast on the 21 Nov 1995 edition of the syndicated Columbia Records Radio Hour radio show. The second reel contains ten songs from Springsteen’s 08 and 09 Dec 1995 shows in Philadelphia, PA (with commercials), originally broadcast on the 14 Dec 1995 edition of the Columbia Records Radio Hour radio show. These are 10.5‐inch reels with 1/2″ tape, with a running speed of 7.5 ips.

A set of two 10.5‐inch reel‐to‐reel tapes, 1/2″ wide, runs at 7.5 in/s. Each comes in a separate box measuring 11″x11″ and is accompanied with a cue sheet.

Notes from Lost In The Flood

Extremely rare set of two promotion‐only tapes for radio station use; containing ten live tracks recorded at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on December 8/9, 1995 on one reel, and an interview with Bob Costas on the other. Boxes feature blue/white labels with company logos of the manufacturer (“NOW! Recording Systems, Inc.”). Also released as a regular cassette.

The entire December 14 radio broadcast (Columbia Radio Hour) features live material from the two shows from 1995‐12‐08/09.
Of the ten songs broadcast, “Born In The U.S.A.” and “Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street?” were from the show on 1995‐12‐08.
Of the ten songs broadcast, “The Ghost Of Tom Joad”, “Straight Time”, “Darkness On The Edge Of Town”, the spoken introduction to “Born In The U.S.A.”, “Youngstown”, “Sinaloa Cowboys”, “Balboa Park”, “This Hard Land” and “Streets Of Philadelphia” were from the show on 1995‐12‐09.
