Quake (“11‐1111” v1.01 direct mail‐order)

Though this release shares a UPC with the initial shareware game, this version of Quake has a small sticker on the back reading "SOURCE CODE 11-1111." It could be obtained by sending the appropriate amount of money to id software directly. Unlike the initial release, it was pre-patched to software version 1.01 & already registered. Musical content is largely the same as all other versions, though there are reports that some copies of this pressing may have the last two audio tracks switched.

If you want to give your friends the Shareware 1.01 version of Quake, go into the SW directory and type 'install'. PLEASE DON'T INSTALL THIS REGISTERED VERSION OF QUAKE ON ANYONE ELSE'S MACHINE! We worked very hard for long amounts of time to create this game and would appreciate your support.
