E.S.T. Symphony

Project of the remaining members of E.S.T., Dan Berglund (bass), Magnus Öström (drums) plus arranger and conductor Hans Ek, with the aim to perform the music of E.S.T with a full symphonic orchestra. To cite Hans Ek: "... The special magic of the trio’s telepathic playing we can’t recreate, but maybe we let the great compositions take on a new path.”
Rooted in an idea of Esbjörn Svensson who in 2003 arranged 'Dodge The Dodo' for chamber orchestra, which was performed that year at Jazz Baltica in Salzau with Pat Metheny as special guest, the three participants (so called on their web site) toured under this name throughout Europe from June 2013 to end of Nov. 2017, giving concerts with varying soloists and orchestras.
